Everything You Need to Know Before Buying a Custom Truck Topper
Do you keep toppers in stock?
We do keep toppers in stock for popular truck models, but any custom accessories or options for the caps have to be special ordered.
What are the toppers made from?
Peak Line Overland toppers are built from aviation-grade aluminum, providing excellent
strength without adding excessive weight to your truck.
Can I insulate the topper?
Yes. While our truck caps are not insulated from the factory, many customers add insulation, bed platforms, storage systems, or sleeping setups for camping and overlanding.
Are the toppers waterproof?
Our toppers are designed to be highly weather resistant and are sealed where they mount to
the bed rails. While no truck topper can be guaranteed 100% waterproof in every condition,
our design does an excellent job keeping out rain, snow, and road spray when properly
installed.
Do the side doors open?
Yes. Our gullwing side doors open upward on both sides, giving you easy access to gear
from either side of the truck without having to climb into the bed.
Can I lock the side doors?
Yes. All side access doors and rear doors include locking handles to help keep your gear secure.
Are the sliding windows good for dogs?
Many customers choose sliding side windows to improve airflow and ventilation for pets while traveling. Always ensure pets are transported safely and never left unattended in extreme temperatures.
How much weight can the roof support?
Our toppers are rated for:
- 700 lbs static load
- 350 lbs dynamic load
This makes them suitable for rooftop tents, recovery gear, cargo boxes, and many other overland accessories.
Can I customize my truck cap?
Yes. Depending on your truck model, we offer multiple configurations including:

Can I mount a rooftop tent?
Yes. Our toppers are rated for up to 700 lbs static load and 350 lbs dynamic load, making
them suitable for rooftop tents and many overland accessories.
Do roof bars come included?
No. Roof bars are sold separately so you can customize your topper to fit your needs. This
allows customers to build a setup specifically for camping, work, or overlanding.
Does the topper include interior lighting?
Interior lighting is available as an optional accessory. Many customers choose to add our
LED light package for improved visibility at camp or on the job site.
